Cities such as Oudenaarde, Ronse, Geraardsbergen and Tournai are of cultural-historical value. Museums, art and other places of interest can be visited and there are various possibilities to participate in events.
For a change you can always spend your time at an outdoor café drinking the finest selection of local beer, eating local food or by enjoying other treats.
Kwaremont, a picturesque artist village just a few footsteps away, offers at least 17 art galleries and includes a rich collection of masterpieces.
Scenery and Nature
Kluisberg, a 300 hectare forest lying on the language boudary between Flanders and the Walloon province, is synonymous with rest, relaxation and nature. Camping site Panorama is located at the border of the forest.
Sports and Recreation
Camping site Panorama is located on a green area on the Kluisberg hill. Keen on cycling? The hills and vallies of the Flemish Ardennes will be your perfect challenge as they are known for the scenery for The Tour of Flanders (road cycling race). The course contains many steep hills: Old Kwaremont, Paterberg, Côte du Trieu. Old Kwaremont, the most popular and hardest climb of The Tour (length: 2,2 km, height: 93 m, cobblestone track) will lead you to a picturesque artist village called Kwaremont.
Nearby you can start the “Eddy Merckx” – route (45 km), a cycling tourist route named after a famous cyclist, or discover the network of many signposted routes by mountain bike or by foot.
